What is the visitor tax?
The visitor tax (also called spa fee, guest contribution, bed tax, accommodation tax, city tax or tourist tax depending on the municipality) is a local levy on overnight stays. It is collected by the accommodation provider together with the stay and passed on to the municipality. Rates and exemptions vary considerably from place to place.
This database summarises the common rates per city — as guidance without guarantee. The current statute of the respective municipality always applies. For the exact calculation of your stay, use the free calculator.
